Canterbury Celebrates The Queen's Jubilee

The Heiress is enjoying all that Canterbury has on offer for the Queen's Jubilee and thoughtfully sent a few photos to her Mum left whimpering at home.  Each one taken with me in mind as she knows how much I adore quaint pedestrian walkways, bunting and beautiful window displays.
Tearooms also rate quite highly!
Some tea to enjoy at home in a souvenir tin is also quite nice and speaking of souvenirs...
...the tea towel and tote are too pretty to use but aren't they lovely?
I can just imagine the fingerprints on this bakery window from people stopping to mull over which one is their favourite.  The massive pink fairy cake up in front is the one that catches my eye!

Oh how we wish we could have been there to enjoy it with you but thanks so much for sending a such lovely glimpses home.

  1. What a brilliant cakeshop, must look out for that next time I'm there. I was thinking of you yesterday and knew you'd have braved the crowds/rain to wave your flag down by the river, which made me feel terribly guilty for staying at home!

    1. Crowds and rain...no problem! BUT, if I had a friend with one of those condos overlooking the Thames where I could have quick access to a kettle and a loo there would have to be a decision made, Mary.

    2. Yes, a friend of mine was lucky enough to know someone like that and did it style.

    1. They are adorable but I did have visions of blue teeth from the icing! Hope you are thoroughly enjoying all the cheery surroundings and celebrations, Nicola.

    1. Where to start in that shop...my goodness! There were times when I had my fill of housework that I had to resist the urge not to call up the BA website, sigh. Olympics next...sit tight!

  5. Gorgeous photos - thank you for sharing these with us! :o) I have been loving the various window displays the past couple of weeks, but guess they will be disappearing fairly promptly which is a pity :o(

  6. How wonderful to see these scenes from Cambridge. I was glued to my television on Sunday watching all the festivities. The flotilla was spectacular, even in the rain. A great event! Congratulations to the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee!

    1. The Queen's strength and stamina just astound me, no help on the stairs and no stretching when she gets out of the car! Let's hope she stays in good health for quite some time yet as I can't imagine England without her. Glad you enjoyed all of the festivities, Sunday!
