This morning R was weeding by the front door. He discovered a clump of boxwood branches had been bitten right off leaving a gaping hole the size of a dinner plate. There, tucked inside was a nest of new baby bunnies.
Then, on my way to work I checked the mailbox. More bundles of joy and they're almost the same colour as the bunnies! It's been a rainy sort of day...a grey day all around.
Book Psmith, I have to say that they are a bit cuter with more fur, poor little naked things.
verity, Elaine from Random Jottings sent me a Persephone she found cheap at a second hand sale and it took three months from when she sent it! I think it came on the back of an albatross:)
JoAnn, I'm reading Nightingale Wood at the moment and then perhaps Kristina and I will choose another Persephone title to read together. I'm quite excited to read A London Child of the 1870's though having just been there.
I've never seen such tiny little bunnies. My library has a copy of The Shuttle (very old edition like your Making of a Marchioness), which I read and enjoyed a year or so ago. My Persephones came in the mail this week, too....
Oh my goodness, I couldn't even tell that those were bunnies. Lots of good surprises for you today...enjoy:)
ReplyDeleteFantastic that your books arrived - surface mail obviously no slower than air mail! I haven't read The Shuttle but love the other two.

How lovely! I didn't recognise them as bunnies either.
ReplyDeleteThe Shuttle was such a great page-turner.
Paperback Reader, I've heard lots of great reviews about this one, I can't wait to read it! Oh to be so spoiled for choice.
ReplyDeleteBut a gray day in a good way! K x
ReplyDeleteOh dear, they don't look like bunnies yet, do they? Have you decided which Persephone to read first?
ReplyDeleteKristina, Absolutely!
