If all goes well, my next trip to London will be in November to see The Heiress graduate. So I held my breath as I read about
this exhibit, five years in the planning, at the V&A. There was a little happy dance going on at my house when at the bottom of the article it stated the exhibit opens October 20, *squeal*.
They must have known you were coming, Darlene! See you in November!
ReplyDeleteSqeeee! I must keep the whole of November free and NOT get mumps!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to look forward to! Off to find out more about the exhibition
ReplyDeleteHow perfect! Will co-ordinate beautifully with graduation garb. Now for YOUR ensemble!!
ReplyDeleteMary, Better sharpen my pencil and start an itinerary!
ReplyDeleteVerity, Too bad it wasn't in June. There has been some talk on the Virago forum about a get-together and I'm jealous...hmmph!
Jo, I was lucky enough to catch a hat exhibit in 2009. Makes me wonder where that piece is that Beatrice wore to the wedding....
Martina, My daughter laughed when I asked her if it would be appropriate to wear a fascinator. That should make her good and worried!
Oh how exciting! I love London, and especially the Victoria and Albert. What a great trip that will be!
ReplyDeleteSunday Taylor, One day I would love to stay at the hotel you stayed at during your last visit, it was gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAlready looking forward to meeting up in November! And did you see there's a ballgown exhibition too? K x
ReplyDeleteKristina, I'm picturing an afternoon visiting Ham House...just thinking ahead! Now for that ballgown exhibit...
ReplyDeleteOooh I remember when they first discussed this when I still worked there - they plan 3-4 years ahead. Me and Naomi are going to try and use our connections to get tickets to the opening party - it will be fantastic no doubt!
ReplyDeleteBack in London so soon! Tea and cake date please!
Rachel, The place probably hasn't been the same since you two left! Some 'behind the scenes at the museum' stories would be a treat so I will cross my fingers.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely tea and cake! Mary and I have already talked about Two Temple Place if they're still offering.
I haven't heard about this. Sounds like it will be a wonderful exhibit. I used to love wandering around the museum when I lived in London.
ReplyDeleteAnn
Am so envious! I love the V&A! I shall once again be living vicariously through you!
